In this class, students will learn the fundamental building blocks of art and design that give them the tools and knowledge of great picture making. They will develop their skills and understanding of the craft passed down to us from the old masters, starting with how to sharpen and hold a pencil, to learning the seven elements of art, and on to creating their own master works. Each class will go over one of the elements of art ( line, value, shape, color, etc.) And give examples and exercises of how to use these elements, and at the end of each module, the student can use their skills and knowledge that they have developed to create their own original works of art.
This is a curriculum based course where each class provides its own specific task and exercise that will lead into the next week's prompt. This will course will be a total of eight weeks divided into 2 four week sessions, Part I and Part II.
