About the Artist

Jonathan is an illustrator and sculptor with a passion for creature design. With a background in anthropology, he finds meaningful ways to connect his craft with historical methodologies. From paints and pigments to brushes and tools, Jonathan uses his historical knowledge to handcraft artistic materials akin to those from years past. 

Jonathan began at The Atelier as a student before becoming a Fellowship Student and will be teaching his first class this 

Fall, 2023, called Creature Design. Students will learn design principles and how to apply them.
