Join award winning photographer, Les Goldschmidt, in exploring Composition and Lighting and learning the photographic “rules,” when to use them and when to break them. Whether you
shoot with a cell phone or a camera, this course will also teach you all about design principles, including different sizing, print options, and how social media factors into digital photography.

In this workshop, fashion designer and illustrator Beth Drucker will teach you how to incorporate pattern into your pieces as a way to enhance your artwork. The use of pattern can help make your work more
expressive and interesting. We will be using a live model and textiles with various textures and patterns as the focal point. Any media choice is fine, black and
white, or color. If using color, please use water-based media, such as, pastels,
colored pencils, watercolor or gouache.

Focus on using watercolor to paint waves and the sea. During the workshop, participants will complete two paintings while learning essential techniques, including proper masking methods and how to preserve the white of the paper for the brightest highlights.

This workshop aims to shed light on best practices for painting a T-Rex, preferably in gouache, and to instill a love and appreciation of the field of Paleo Art while having fun learning new skills. The Instructor will give a brief overview of Paleo Art from the mid-19th century to the present.

Learn how to create textured landscapes using wool, fabric scraps and yarn through the wet felting technique. The process is highly meditative, involving rolling, layering and gently manipulating the wool into a single unified surface. As the fibers bond together, the materials begin to behave almost like paint, allowing participants to achieve a rich, painterly effect while remaining deeply connected to the tactile and rhythmic nature of the process.

Learn how to paint silk and create a beautiful piece to give as a gift or keep for yourself. Silk painting is an ancient technique that first originated in India and Eastern Asia, with practices that have been passed down and perfected throughout many generations of artists.
Silk outdates both canvas and paper in terms of the earliest painting surfaces. And, while the techniques and styles behind this variety of textile art do vary depending on which country’s practices you are looking at, the basics of painting silk can be used by anyone, anywhere to
create stunning silk pieces for clothing or display.

Ever wondered how the Best plein air nocturne painters do what they do? Come join this 1st time ever workshop and learn from five time Best Nocturne award winning painter, Kirk Larsen. This unique class will help demystify the process, guide you through the steps and introduce you to the tools and materials needed as you paint plein air, at night and gain a better understanding of how to approach night painting. Learn the difference between painting artificially lit subjects vs moonlit and ambient light. The workshop occurs a day after the full moon and if weather cooperates, you’ll have an opportunity to include the moon in your painting.
