2026 Atelier Class & Registration Policies (Adult Classes)

REGISTRATION

  • The Sessions at the Atelier are typically 4 weeks with the class meeting once weekly.
  • Students are expected to enroll in all classes in a session for Complete Attendance.
  • Limited Attendance requires instructor approval.
  • Complete Attendance: Students are encouraged to attend every class in the session to fully benefit from the course. Tuition (classes no models) is $260 for the entire session (or $65 per class).
  • Classes with a model tuition is $280 for the entire session (or $70 per class).
  • Limited Attendance—per individual class: Students may enroll in individual classes during a session with the instructor’s permission. $70 per class (no models) and $75 per class (with model).
  • All students must register 48 hours (two business days) in advance of the first class of any session.
  • All students are expected and encouraged to register online.

PAYMENTS

  • Payment must be made in full for both complete attendance and limited attendance before each session starts.
  • Please call the office as soon as possible If you are enrolled in a session but cannot attend due to extenuating circumstances. Once the session has started, no credits or refunds will be provided unless there are special conditions. (See cancellations for more information.)

FINANCIAL AID

  • The Atelier has a limited amount of financial aid if needed. Please call the office staff at (631) 250-9009 to make arrangements.

CANCELLATIONS

  • If the Atelier cancels a class (due to inclement weather), a make-up class will be scheduled. If a student cannot attend the make-up class, a credit or refund will be issued.
  • If an instructor cancels a class, credits will be given unless the instructor arranges for a substitute instructor or provides a make-up class.
  • A session requires a minimum of three (3) enrolled students unless otherwise approved by the instructor.
  • Registration at least two business days prior to the first session is strongly encouraged. Enrolled students will be notified in the event of a cancellation.

STUDIO/CLASSROOM PROTOCOLS

  • The studios are opened a half hour before each class so the students can set up.
  • Unless permitted by the instructor or staff, students should finish working by the end of class, clean up and break down still-life set-ups within half an hour after class.
  • Students are encouraged to take photographs of their set-ups so the work can be reassembled for the next class.
  • Students should not set up any classes. Students should locate a staff member if a studio needs to be set up.
  • Students are expected to bring home their work when finished/dry. The Atelier has limited storage space.

INSTRUCTORS

  • It is the instructor’s responsibility to see to it that the studios are left in an orderly state after a class and ready for use by the next class.
  • The instructor is responsible for ensuring all doors are locked and alarms are set after the last class of the day.
