Our Summer Workshop Series runs during July and August consisting of one-day workshops taught by resident and guest artists. Whether you're a beginner just starting out or a professional artist looking to expand their skills, all are welcome!
These workshops are recommended for ages 16 and up with a select few appropriate for younger teens as well. Click here for our Kid's Summer Camp program for ages 6 - 12!

Liz Fusco will teach students to understand the properties of color pencil as a medium. Using a photo of a portrait (or subject of their choice), they will learn how to layer pencil pigment to create a finished painting.
Recommended for ages 13 and up.

Love books? Love art? Combine both in this one-day workshop! Diana will teach students how to create thumbanils to plan out a book, create a "book dummy", and start on full illustrations for their books. Even if you don't finish during the workshop, Diana will leave you with the skills and confidence to finish your project at home.
*Paper and pencils will be supplied but students are welcome to bring their preferred drawing tools.

Find out how to incorporate a story into a character's design and bring them to life! From posing a character to convey personality to dressing them to reflect where they live, learn the basics of great character design.

In this 5 hour workshop, learn the proportions of the fashion figure and now to render clothing on a model so it looks fabulous! Explore the professional way to persuade the consumer to want that look. You will see how to pose the body to make clothing look polished and exciting.
It's all about movement and "Attitude". We will draw and transform the body into a polished, stylized, confident "Fashionista" with a sophisticated or fun feeling. The way your fashion figure is drawn accentuates the flair, feel and excitement of the garments.

Want to create your own manga? Learn layouts of panels, where to place speech bubbles, and how to place your own characters into the frame! This workshop will help set you in the right direction to designing interesting and well laid out manga. Concepts can also be applied to other types of comics.

This beginner class is perfect for anyone wanting to dip their feet into still life painting. Use props in the studio to create a still life scene, or bring items from home you want to paint, and Rae will take you step-by-step through the process.
